Allergens and diet
Scores, symbols and diet information on FindResto are a guide, not a guarantee. For allergies, coeliac disease or strict religious or ethical needs, always confirm with the restaurant before you order.
Where the information comes from
- The restaurant's own menu and allergen information, checked by our team
- Certificates restaurants show us, such as halal certificates
- What verified diners report, shown only when three or more diners agree
Diets
Vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher, gluten-free, no egg, Jain, eggetarian, no onion or garlic, and jay. Symbols are shown as the restaurant declares them, unless marked Certified (a certificate we have checked). A dish marked Jain is always treated as vegetarian with no onion or garlic.
Diet risk
Each dish can show a Low, Medium or High risk for your diet, with the reasons: for example a shared grill or fryer, an allergen in the kitchen, or diners reporting something the menu didn't say. It is a guide only: Low risk does not mean safe or free from an allergen.
Allergens
FindResto records the 14 allergens named in UK law for every dish and shows them in each country's own terms. Kitchens handle many ingredients, so cross-contact is always possible.
